Diabetes Association of India, Southern Chapter Founded in 1984, the Diabetes Association of India (DAI) is one of the country’s leading professional organizations dedicated to advancing diabetes care and improving the lives of people living with diabetes. Established through the vision and commitment of eminent diabetologists, the Association was created to provide a common platform for healthcare professionals to exchange clinical experiences, discuss emerging research, and promote advancements in the field of Diabetology. The Diabetologist Association of India – Southern Chapter, headquartered in Chennai, conducts its flagship annual conference, DAISICON, across various cities in South India. Over the years, DAISICON has evolved into a premier scientific forum that fosters knowledge sharing, collaboration, innovation, and professional development among diabetes care specialists. The DAISICON Journey Through the Years DAISICON 2011 marked the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Association and was conducted at Hotel Green Park, Chennai, in February 2011. The conference was a grand success, attracting more than 525 delegates from across the country. In 2012, a one-day Annual Summit on Diabetes was held at Hotel Raintree, Chennai, with participation from over 150 delegates. DAISICON 2013, conducted at Hotel Green Park, Chennai, in July 2013, witnessed tremendous success with attendance exceeding 700 delegates. DAISICON 2016 was organized at Hotel Le Royal Méridien, Chennai, bringing together leading experts and healthcare professionals in diabetes care. DAISICON 2017 was successfully conducted in Madurai and attracted more than 700 delegates. DAISICON 2019 focused on the latest advancements in diabetes management and patient care, continuing the tradition of scientific excellence. DAISICON 2021 was organized virtually as an Insulin Conclave to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin, enabling participation from experts across the country despite the pandemic. DAISICON 2023 marked a successful return to an in-person format at Hotel Green Park, Chennai. The conference featured more than 100 distinguished faculty members and welcomed over 800 delegates. The theme for the conference was “Diabetes Technologies and Treatment.” DAISICON 2025, held on September 6–7, 2025, at Hotel Green Park, Chennai, was a highly successful event. The conference brought together leading diabetologists, healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry experts, providing an outstanding platform for scientific exchange, learning, and collaboration.
